It would save me so much time if I could specify reports to be emailed to me at a regular interval (daily, weekly, monthly) so that I don't have to log in to the system and run them manually.

YES! Even better - get this in a mobile app - even if view & sort only - where you can receive a mobile push notification and read doc details and calenders!
